What separates RMR Capital Management from other advisors?

A combination of independence, comprehensive service and client focus. As an independent Registered Investment Advisor, we provide appropriate advice for each client’s specific situation and needs without concerning ourselves with the agenda of a parent company. Our services range from planning to investment management to estate planning—we can meet a wide range of needs under one roof. Finally, we are oriented toward providing each client the attention and service they deserve. We treat our clients as individuals and not numbers.

Why is working with a fiduciary advisor important?

Fiduciary financial advisors such as RMR Capital Management are a small minority within the financial advisor industry. Fiduciaries have a legal obligation to act in their clients’ interests. They cannot, for instance, recommend an investment to a client just because it pays the advisor a high sales commission. Fiduciary advisors are free from most of the conflicts of interest that are associated with traditional brokers and advisors who accept sales commissions.

What is your primary fee model?

We are a fee-based Registered Investment Advisor, so the majority of our compensation is earned as a percentage of client assets under management. This helps to ensure that our interests are aligned with those of our clients. In order to serve the full range of our clients’ financial needs, we do offer insurance and other products that are only available with a sales commission. In such cases we clearly and fully disclose the costs involved.

Where is clients’ money kept?

We keep client assets with an independent, third-party custodian in order to assured their safety. RMR Capital Management personnel have no direct assets to client money. Our primary custodian is Charles Schwab & Co., one of the largest and most respected firms in the financial industry.

Successful individuals and families who are serious about achieving their goals. Our clients include professionals, small-business owners, retirees and those at life crossroads such as the sale of assets, major family changes or inheritance.
